Gaming is everywhere. Millions of players, billions in revenue. But something felt off. Most games are designed to keep you playing—not to create something meaningful.
We saw an opportunity: What if play could fuel something bigger?
This is the story of how Aequel was built—not just as a gaming brand, but as a movement. From the first prototype of Flong Air, our skill-based air hockey game, to integrating Alterium, our impact-driven currency, and now expanding into the Flong Gaming Multiverse, this journey is about redefining what gaming, business, and social impact can be.
Because the future isn’t something we wait for—it’s something we create.
Most companies start with a product—we started with a purpose.
Gaming is bigger than ever, but it’s also stuck in a loop—designed to keep people playing, not to create something meaningful. We saw an opportunity: What if play could fuel something bigger?
This is the story of how Aequel was built—not just as a gaming brand, but as a movement. From the first prototype to launching Flong Air, a skill-based air hockey game, integrating the 5% impact model and Alterium, and now building the Flong Gaming Multiverse, we’ll take you inside the journey of turning a bold idea into reality.
This isn’t just about us. It’s about what’s next.
Most companies start with a product—a shiny new idea they think the world needs.
We didn’t.
Instead, we started with a problem: Gaming had become one of the most powerful cultural forces on the planet—yet, it was mostly designed to extract value, not create it.
Look around: The biggest games today are built for engagement loops—endless levels, infinite progression, microtransactions at every turn. They’re engineered to keep players locked in, not leveled up.
We saw this and asked a different question:
What if play could do more?
What if games didn’t just reward time spent—but rewarded meaningful actions?
What if, instead of maximizing retention, they maximized impact?
That was the moment Aequel was born.
Not as a game.
Not as a brand.
As a belief—that gaming, business, and social change could be fused into something bigger.
Most great ideas start as a crazy thought. Ours did too.
It happened in a conversation—one of those “what if?” moments.
"What if every game you played actually contributed to something real?"
"What if, instead of just buying in-game currency, players could earn something that mattered?"
"What if gaming wasn’t just about competition—but about contribution?"
At first, it sounded impossible.
Big companies weren’t doing it. Investors weren’t asking for it. The industry wasn’t designed for it.
But we couldn’t shake the idea.
Because gaming already influences culture. It connects millions of people. It has the power to create movements.
So why wasn’t it being used to create real change?
We didn’t have all the answers.
But we knew one thing: We had to try.
If you want to build something new, you have to start with something simple.
So we built a game.
Not just any game—a skill-based, precision-driven challenge that rewarded ability, not addiction.
We knew we wanted a game that never goes out of style, something as timeless as Pong—a game that anyone could pick up instantly but would take skill to master.
But what if we combined that simplicity with the unexpected chaos of flipper mechanics?
Obstacles. Bounces. Unpredictable angles designed to throw the player off.
That’s when it clicked.
A fast-paced, skill-based game that mixed the control of Pong with the unpredictability of pinball—Flipper + Pong = Flong.
And as big hockey fans, we knew exactly where to start—with an air hockey-inspired game that captured the intensity, reflex-driven action, and competitive nature of the sport.
At first, it didn’t work.
The physics felt off. The balance was wrong. Either it was too easy and people got bored, or it was too hard and people quit.
We hit a decision point: Scrap it or fix it?
We chose to fix it.
Because the best games aren’t just played—they’re experienced.
We fine-tuned the movement system, created dynamic AI, and adjusted difficulty scaling so that every match was a challenge worth mastering.
The result?
A game that rewarded pure skill. No shortcuts. No paywalls. Just mastery.
And that’s when we realized: We didn’t just create a game. We created a statement.
A great game should reward skill—but what if it also rewarded impact?
That’s when we made the decision that defined Aequel from day one:
5% of all revenue would go toward real-world causes.
Not an add-on. Not a campaign. Baked into the DNA of the company.
But we didn’t stop there.
Because if gaming is about value, why should that value only exist inside the game?
That’s where Alterium comes in.
Alterium is a currency that cannot be bought—only earned.
Mastering challenges—not mindless grinding.
Engaging in impact-driven missions.
Contributing to the community.
The combination of the 5% Model + Alterium isn’t just a different approach to gaming economics.
It’s a statement.
Because gaming isn’t just entertainment. It’s an opportunity.
Flong Air was just the start.
We’re not just building a game. We’re building a gaming multiverse.
A connected ecosystem where skill, mastery, and impact shape the experience.
A world where every action, every challenge, and every win means something beyond just a high score.
New mechanics that expand beyond air hockey.
A skill-based progression system connecting multiple games.
New Flong challenges that test precision, adaptability, and mastery.
Tournaments, multiplayer competitions, and co-op experiences.
This is where we’re headed. And we want you to be part of it.
Aequel isn’t just a brand. It’s a belief.
A belief that gaming should be more than just a pastime.
That business should be more than just transactions.
That play can be a force for good.
If this speaks to you, be part of it.
Play. Share. Support.
Because the future isn’t something we wait for—it’s something we create.
